War with Japan could have been avoided in 1941. Although many historians state that war in the Pacific was inevitable, a window of opportunity to resolve issues diplomatically between Imperial Japan and the U.S. did present itself in the summer of 1941. The presentation will cover what the failure in American diplomacy was all about and most importantly, why.
